I slept like a log for 12 hours straight

I slept like a log for 12 hours straight. After shifting all my belongings to my new house, I had wanted to have a few hours’ sleep before tidying up my new house. But “man proposes, God disposes” and I did not get up until this morning 12 solid hours later.

Sounds familliar with this opening?? Ha! I actually modified it from one of uncle kit's postings in his old blog.

Right now I'm actually feeling a bit sick. Perhaps it's because of breathing in lots of dust when i shifted house. Moreover I din get enough sleep recently so my antibody is weak. I swallowed two panadols this morning. Hopefully i will get better. Can't afford to fall sick at this "critical" moment.

Yes, my new house is ready. Still need to tidy up a bit. I've contacted the old landlord. will meet her up tonight and get everything settled.

And now, it's time for some David Copperfield magic....

I'm homeless!

I'm homeless! Yess....I'm homeless at least for the next 8 hours! I had shifted all my belongings to my new home. But then my bed is still at my old home therefore i have no place to sleep tonight. Right now, I'm staying overnight at my friend's house. Have been very busy this whole week shifting all my belongings to my new house....err i mean condo. Everytime i shift things, it will rain. You say lar....got so suay or not??Anyway i managed to shift all my things over there. The remaining "big" items such as bed, fridge, wardrobe is still at my old house. We have contacted a logistic company(actually it's just a broken lorry from sg long) to shift those things tomorrow morning. Actually it's later in the morning. I'm very very blurr~ now. Din get enought sleep for one whole week.

Have been closely following the Bursa Malaysia recently. Intervarsity Investment Challenge will start this saturday and we can start trading by next monday. Genting had a price increase on Tuesday. Perhaps it's because of the acquisition of power plant in China. Today, MAS and Air asia are traded at a high volume. I still haven't made up my mind how to allocate the RM100k given to me! Gotta made up my mind fast....

The final exam timetable has been released. This means that there's not much time left for me for my exam preparation. Right now, there's too many things bothering me. I haven't handed both the "legal" letter to my "old landlord". Still thinking of a nice way to tell her that we are terminating the tenancy agreement. Hope to get everything done as soon as possible. Oh yea...did i mention about the water bill previously? The accumulated amount is now RM745.30 and the water supply is being cut!

Boycott mainstream media?

Is it time for us to boycott the mainstream media? Yesterday was certainly a black day for all mainstream media. The peaceful demonstration was totally banned in all mainstram media. China Press was the only paper that reported on this news(only in a small column without any picture). The news is biased that they described those who protested as "bad people". In fact the police were the culprit as they had spoiled a peaceful demonstration. The people tried to ran into Suria KLCC to protect themselves being hurt by the FRU and police. However the police made all their way into the shopping mall to arrest those people. What an uncivilise act by them!

Why is China Press the only paper who reported on this issue? To compensate their chief editors being sacked for the nude squat video? This shows us that what we read in our newspaper is what the government wants us to know. What they do not want us to know, you will never know! This is indeed scary! Media should act as a check and balance on the government. Wonder whether the scene "V for Vendetta" would ever happen in our country!

Here are some blogs regarding the protest in KLCC

Protest on fuel price increase!!!

There's a protest on fuel price increase in KLCC yesterday(Sunday) morning. They are more than 2000 people having a peaceful demonstration which is permitted under the federal constituition. However the government tried to use violence to crack down this peaceful demonstation. At around 11am, SMS about FRU, water cannons and people arrested are flying all around the country.

No mainstream media is reporting this news today(monday). This shows that how powerful our government is, that all the mainstream media is "working" for them. You could only get this news from the internet. Websites that reported including Merdeka Review, The Free Media, Malaysiatoday and Malaysiakini.

There's also a video uploaded by ntdtv.com, click here to view it.

According to the report, this is the biggest demonstration held since 1990.

I wonder whether the government need to take such a harsh approach to this demonstration! Horses, dogs are also brought to KLCC to stop this demonstration. the KLCC LRT station is closed yesterday morning to prevent people flocking to klcc to protest. Even a 7 year old kid is also arrested! I'm ashamed that such an incident happened in one of our country famous landmark!

I've got the latest update regarding this event. This morning, 500 people marched to the parliament to hand in the memorandum regarding this fuel hike increase. However they are denied entrance!

Proton, Perodua slash prices

This is the headline of today's New Straits Times. Wonder whether this is one of the government's strategy to reduce the impact of fuel hike on the automobile industry. As we learnt in economics, Cars and Petrols are complement goods. An increase of price in petrol would definitely cause the demand of cars to fall. The government is trying to neutralize the impact right now, though the outcome is still unpredictable.

I receieved a mail from a friend a few days ago regarding the history of petrol price in Malaysia.

before 1990 - RM 0.89
year 1990 - RM 1.10 (increment of RM 0.21)
01/10/2000 - RM 1.20 (increment of RM0.10)
20/10/2001 - RM 1.30 (increment of RM 0.10)
01/05/2002 - RM 1.32 (increment of RM 0.02)
31/10/2002 - RM 1.33 (increment of RM 0.01)
01/03/2003 - RM 1.35 (increment of RM 0.02)
01/05/2004 - RM 1.37 (increment of RM 0.02)
01/10/2004 - RM 1.42 (increment of RM 0.05)
05/05/2005 - RM 1.52 (increment of RM 0.10)
31/07/2005 - RM 1.62 (increment of RM 0.10)
28/02/2006 - RM 1.92 (increment of RM 0.30)

Everytime when government increse the fuel price, they will say, "Don't worry, our price is still the cheapest in this region."

Right now, the car prices are dropping by 3 to 5%. It should be a good news to us. But please let me say something.

"Don't worry, ours is still the most expensive in the region!"

To sue or not to sue?

I've just consulted my personal lawyer regarding the tenancy agreement. Ehem....actually is my Law lecturer lar~~Yup, it's Miss Sherin. She's so kind to help us.

Our case is quite complicated. The tenancy agreement is due end of this year. The water pipe in my house is leaking and the house owner is not helpful enough on this matter. The house owner actually called a plumber to repair it, however after almost a year time, the plumber failed to repair it. Therefore we decided to move! Right now the unpaid bills are

Water bill : >RM600
Electric bill : >RM300

The march rental(RM550) is still unpaid. Therefore the whole amount due from us would be RM1450. We paid two months of rental deposit and RM550 of utility deposit. Therefore we have RM1650 on the owener's hand. Logically, we would not lose much if we move out right now.

There's a clause in the tenancy agreement that stipulates that if the rental is remain unpaid for ten days, this tenancy agreement shall absolutely cease and the deposit shall be forfeited by the landlord. Ms. Sherin told us that, the worst case that might happen is the whole deposit would be forfeited and the landlord would sue us for the unpaid rent(RM550). Any normal person would not sue us for only RM550 as the expenses would easily exceed this amount.

She advise us try to get back the deposit instead of letting the deposit being forfeited. Should the landlord refuse to pay anything, we will not lose anything. Therefore she suggested that we write 2 letters to the landlord. One letter is to inform the landlord of the termination of the tenancy agreement and the reason. Another letter is about the refund of the deposit with the heading "RE : set off of deposit against arreas due". She stressed that we must put a "without prejudice" on the top right corner of the second letter so that this letter would not be used against us in court should the owner decided to sue us. This is because, according to the tenancy agreement we would not have any right to claim for the refund of deposit.

Before this, I was worried that the landlord might sue us for future losses. According to Ms. Sherin, the landlord do not have such a right as stipulated in the tenancy agreement. What the landlord could do is just forfeit the deposit and to sue for the unpaid rent.

Right now, need to crack my head to write both of the letters. Need to get it done by this week(only two more days left). As my new house will be ready on Monday!

p/s : Hopefully our landlord is a normal person!

untitled

Just posted my latest review in Chinese Music Blog. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first review from me this semester. Kinda feel sorry for steve, cos i promised to post at least one review every month. Anyway, I would TRY MY BEST to post another review before my final exam, or else my next review will come more than a month's time. Thinking of posting AMei's latest album - "Wo Yao Kuai Le" . Hopefully this would not remind CMB readers of the gossip between AMei and Lee Hom.

This semester timetable made me fail to blog as frequent as last semester. As I've mentioned before, my earliest class is at 11am and my latest class 8pm. So I usually sleep early in the morning (either 3 or 4 am) and wake up late in the afternoon (usually 1pm except on wednesday where i have 11am class). So you say lar, how to find time to brogggg~~~??

I've entered quite a number of competition this semester, which is one of the reason that kept me busy for this semester. (another reason of course is the hardworking lecturers who gave us lotsa mid term tests and assignments). I fail in all the competition i entered. There's only a last hope left for me this Sunday. I'm going for a briefing in MMU malacca this Sunday for a "Investment Game" . This competition would last for 6 months. Right now I'm not quite sure what's this competition about. What I know is it's something related to buying shares in Bursa Malaysia. The winner will be the one who makes the greatest return on the initial amount invested.

There's a mega-project going on right now in my house - I am shifting! Yess, I'm shifting from a terrace house to a condo! Therefore my time would be quite tight for the next whole week. I always hoped that I could have more time! Right now the situation is quite complicated as our tenancy agreement is not due until the end of this year. Therefore we would seek some legal advice before taking any action. Hopefully everything would be settled by next week. Hope to get a brand new and comfortable environment for my final exam.
